Frequently Asked Questions

Who is working on this project?

We're a volunteer board right here in Oshkosh who is energized to make this project a reality. You can learn more about our Board here. As of September 2024, the Oshkosh Children's Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Where will the museum be located?

We have not yet chosen a location for the Oshkosh Kids Museum. We are currently gathering volunteers, spreading the word, refining our business plan, and building relationships to ensure we find the best location for our dynamic space. Locations will be evaluated based on size, affordability, accessible parking and community feedback.

When will the museum open?

The short answer is... when you join us! Our goal is to open the museum in 2027, giving us a healthy runway to ensure adequate planning and fundraising are in place to make our museum a community staple for years to come. You can learn more about volunteer opportunities here.

Additionally, we're already seeking donations to help with basic start-up costs such as this website, legal fees, business collateral/printed materials, attending conferences, and more. If you'd like to contribute financially, click here. As a 501(c)3 organization, donations to the Oshkosh Kids Museum are tax deductible.

Museum sponsorships, of all levels, will be a part of our future capital campaign

Who are your community partners?

The response from community leaders and citizens has been incredibly supportive. We've already taken advantage of the great resources through the SBDC at UW Oshkosh, connected with the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, Visit Oshkosh, and the Oshkosh Chamber (to name a few).
